Our Consultants

BizJump Consulting is managed by a team of business professionals with extensive academic and work experience in business management and development.

Clinton Daley - is BizJump’s Managing Principal. Mr. Daley has over twelve years experience in entrepreneurship, local economic development and small business management. Mr. Daley co-founded and headed, BizJump, Inc, which since 1998 has assisted over three hundred entrepreneurs to launch and grow their businesses. As a Director of the South Bronx Economic Development Corporation, Mr. Daley played a key role in the revitalization of the local economy through the implementation of business development and job creation programs. Chief among these programs was his role in developing and managing the first minority focused small business incubator in New York City, The SoBro Venture Center.

Mr. Daley has held adjunct business professor positions at Monroe College and Brooklyn College, CUNY, where he lectured on small business management, marketing and entrepreneurship. Mr. Daley is a regular fixture in the small business community. He conducts business management workshops for corporate and not-for-profit organizations; including radio shows, cable television, libraries and economic development agencies. Recently his work at The Venture Center was featured on CBS TV and on Bronx Channel 12 News. Mr. Daley writes extensively on small business topics and has been featured in the Daily News, the Network Journal, Newsday and Crain's New York.

Tara Huls, PhD - Tara is a professor of Education at the University of Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of South Florida.. Tara not only has extensive teaching experience in entrepreneurship, but has also developed and evaluated training and educational curriculum for various institutions. Additionally, she served as a consultant to several education and training firms, including various Multi media companies, to evaluate the effectiveness of their service and content delivery processes. Tara is adept at developing and executing primary and secondary business research constructs.

Michelle Woodhouse - As a Managing Partner with BizJump, Michelle Woodhouse is focused on services marketing and operation management. In particular, Michelle advises clients on strategic alliance and channel-partnering strategies in services oriented business ventures. Additionally, Michelle has held marketing management positions in several firms in the hotel and tourism industry. Before joining BizJump, Michelle was an Adjunct Professor at Norfolk University, Virginia, where she taught Spanish. Michelle holds an MBA in Marketing and an honors degree in Tourism and Institutional Management. In addition to her native English, she also speaks Spanish and French.

Angela Dennis - Angela holds a Masters degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. She worked as a Management Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she developed SAP training documentation for Fortune 500 clients. Ms. Dennis also performed fact-based analysis for a Federal Government Agency. Ms. Dennis has more than 15 years experience in providing administrative services to the private and public sector. She has experience in the start-up and management of an eleven-member medical education consortium. Additionally, she established and managed a retail business where she processed accounts payable and receivable, drafted balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. Prior to establishing her own business venture, Ms Dennis worked in the banking industry for several years, where she was a corporate officer in commercial lending.

Njeru Waithaka - Mr. Njeru Waithaka, business writer and researcher, holds several degrees from Columbia University including a master’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in international affairs. Mr. Waithaka has worked as managing editor for The Exporter Trade Data Reports, a magazine of International trade; as corporate reporter for Bridge News Financial (Knight-Ridder) covering the stock market; and as writer and researcher for the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center contributing chapters for a book entitled “The Political Economy of Communications in International Relations. Mr. Waithaka has also reported for Bloomberg Financial, Africana.com, and Black Enterprise. He was one of 10 winners in New State of the New York Financial Writers Association Award, and his other awards include International Affairs Research Fellowship, Academy of American Poets Prize, Stephen Ades Fiction Writing Fellowship, and Columbia Writers’ Club Award. Most recently, Mr. Waithaka was the editor for “the Network Journal,’ an urban small business publication.

Nan Xiao - Mr. Xiao holds a Bachelors degree in International Economics and trade. He holds a certificate in Computer Science. Mr. Xiao recently received a MBA (honors) in Finance att University of Maryland. Mr. Xiao has extensive experience in the financial market. He worked as a Deputy Director of CAPINEO Company, Limited where he performed financial management. He has completed successful projects in financial market analysis, consulting, and investment prospect analysis and feasibility evaluation as well as portfolio investment management.

Reginald Alilonu, CPA - Reginald is a Certified Public Accountant. As a Managing Partner in Empire Tax Services, Reginald worked extensively with small and medium sized firms, providing them with full-service CPA support, including Tax Preparation, Auditing and Budgeting services. Prior to that, Reginald held senior Accounting and Financial Management positions with numerous firms. Additionally, Reginald holds a Bachelors Degree and an MBA in Finance.

Victoria Simon - Ms. Simon is BizJump’s Senior Accountant. She has extensive experience in providing accounting services to scores of businesses in various industries. Prior to coming to BizJump, Victoria was an Accountant for over 15 years with Axia Partners, a major venture capital firm. Her firm is recognized for its role in nurturing previously small businesses like American Online, Netscape and Snapple, transforming them into profitable companies. Ms. Simon has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Pace University. Additionally, she is a Certified QuickBooks Expert.

Melissa Thomas - Functions as an Accountant/Bookkeeper at BizJump. She has provided bookkeeping and accounting services to several small and medium sized companies from varied industries since 1995. Melissa’s expertise includes working primarily with QuickBooks and providing the following services: Payroll and Sales Tax Preparation, and the production of the following reports - Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, General Ledger and Trial Balance.
